She is the co-host of 93.7 FM Radio Show “The Morning Drive.” Toke Makinwa Blog called “Toke Moments” is also one of the most popular in Nigeria.

She was born in Onikan`s St. Nicholas Hospital.
Toke Makinwa grew up outside Lagos but had to move to Lagos when her parents died.
Her mother was Modupe Monica Makinwa, and her father was Caleb Ifemayowa Makinwa. Toke is not the only child in the family!
She also has four siblings. Toke Makinwa got her secondary education from the Federal Government College of Oyo State.
She graduated fromthe University of Lagos where she majored in English Language and Literature. Toke Makinwa`s first job was at Zenith Bank.
It was obvious that her parents could have been very glad that she chose this path. After a while, she decided to take a chance and move to the industry of mass media. It was her dream to become a media person! Toke Makinwa did not want to give up so easily.

She started her On-Air career in 1999 at Cool FM. Still, this was not her initial success. In 2010, she was the co-host of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant. Toke Makinwa became popular after “Rhythms of the Night” at the Rhythm 93.7 FM.
3LiveChicks and Flytime TV
After her initial success on Radio and the Internet, Toke Makinwa costarred as a host of 3LiveChicks. Her partners in that show were Oreka Godis and Tosyn Bucknor. This show was extended to terrestrial TV stations in 2012. A lot of Nigerian celebrities starred in that show such as Bez, Tonto Dikeh, and Tiwa Savage. Toke Makinwa pictures were on the covers of “Mode Men” and “EM.” Still, she refused to return for season 2 of the show.

In 2014, she got married to her estranged husband, Maje Ayida in a private wedding ceremony. But the mariage hit the rocks in 2015 which eventually led to their separation. The reason for this was quite scandalous. It was disclosed that Toke’s husband, Maje, had impregnated his ex-girlfriend.
